Southern Utah was in second place as a team, at 20-over par 308, three shots behind first day leader Oral Roberts and one shot ahead of South Dakota State and Grand Canyon.
Grand Canyon’s Emily Kaye held the first day lead after coming in at 1-under par 71, while Eastern Washington’s Marissa Borja was second at even par 72.
Taylor Viquelia was second among Thunderbirds in eighth place at 5-over 77, while Shantell Spackman was another shot back in 16th place. Monica Jung and Rynae Baca were tied for 22nd place at 79 to wrap up SUU’s entry.
Eastern Washington was in fifth place at 24-over 312, followed by Weber State (314), Creighton (323) and Dixie State (324). Utah Valley was in ninth place heading into Friday’s final round, at 39-over 327, followed by North Dakota (334), Montana State (338) and Idaho State (356).
Friday’s final round will tee off at 8:30 a.m. over Sunbrook’s The Pointe and Woodbridge nines.
