(CEDAR CITY, Utah) - An old fashioned sewing party will be held on Tuesday March 18th at 10:00 AM and running until 3:00 PM. The party will be held at the Young Single Adult Stake Center, 2nd Ward located at 61 N 900 West near the Southern Utah University campus.

Everyone is welcome to join the Cookbook Ladies of the Cedar Area Interfaith Alliance (CAIFA) as they produce at least 100 baby blankets for mothers with babies living in the Philippines who were impacted by Typhoon Haiyann. No experience is necessary. Sewers may bring personal supplies including their own sewing machine.

The Cookbook Ladies are known for the “Joy of Cooking” cookbook which contains over 600 recipes including appetizers, beverages, soups and salads, side dishes, main dishes, breads, desserts, and some recipes just for fun. The monies raised from the cookbook were given to the building fund for the Care-N-Share Homeless Shelter. If you wish to purchase a cookbook, a few are still available and will be at the sewing party.

The ladies will provide Pizza, salad and water for lunch with some gluten-free sandwiches available along with homemade cookies for desert.

CAIFA is made up of ladies who are members of St. Judes Episcopal, Christ the King Catholic Church, Westview Christian Center, Trinity Lutheran, Parowan United Methodist, Community Presbyterian, Sonrise Christian Center and many Wards of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

For further information, you may contact Gayle Horn at 867-6132 or Diane Molnar at 867-9163.
