(SALT LAKE CITY, Utah) - The House Health and Human Services Committee voted to send Representative Lynn Hemingway’s HB73, Living Wage Amendments, back to Rules, for further study. Matt Lyon, Executive Director of the Utah Democratic Party, issued the following statement:

"Rep. Hemingway's living wage legislation is a bold move, and the start of a critically important conversation. No one who is teaching our kids or keeping our streets safe should be forced to live in poverty. Utah Democrats applaud Rep. Hemingway for taking the initiative, standing up for the middle class, and setting the standard for what it means to be a Democrat in Utah. Thank you, Lynn, for you commitment to Utah's working families."
