  • Six Arrested in Iron County for Stolen Truck

    (IRON COUNTY, Utah) - Today, February 19th at approximately 3:18 a.m. a Deputy with the Iron County Sheriff’s Office observed a white Dodge pickup traveling south on Interstate 15. At approximately mile post 63 the Deputy attempted to make a traffic stop on the truck for failure to maintain in a single lane. The truck failed to stop and accelerated away from the Deputy.

    A pursuit ensued with speeds exceeding 100 mph. Officers from the Cedar City Police Department, the Utah Highway Patrol, and the Washington County Sheriff’s Department assisted in the pursuit. At approximately MP 31 spikes were deployed which punctured the front two tires of the truck. At approximately MP 27 the truck stopped. Three suspects were taken into custody at that time.

    Three other suspects fled on foot into the hills west of I-15. These suspects were tracked by officers, K9 units and a UHP helicopter. At approximately 7:30 a.m. these suspects were located in an area near the Toquerville mines. They were taken into custody at that point.

    Four juvenile suspects were booked into the juvenile detention center in Cedar City. The two adult suspects were booked into the Iron County Jail. The truck they were in was processed by Iron County Sheriff’s Office CSI. It was stolen out of West Valley, UT. Two shotguns were located in the truck.
