(ST. GEORGE, Utah) - On Wednesday, February 12th at approximately 7:20 P.M. St. George Police Officers responded to Walgreens, 391 W. St. George Blvd. on a reported robbery. It was reported that during this robbery attempt a firearm was discharged inside a vehicle. The suspect left the area prior to officer’s arrival. Through the course of the investigation we have learned that the robbery was the result of a pre-arranged meeting between the victim and suspect relating to a drug transaction. The exchange was supposed to have taken place inside a vehicle in the parking lot of Walgreens. One of the men inside the vehicle produced a hand gun and a struggle ensued, causing the firearm to discharge. No one was injured during the struggle; the bullet exited the vehicle through the rear window and struck a nearby building. The suspect fled the area prior to officer’s arrival. The victim in this case was uninjured and is cooperating with officers. Officers have identified 28 year old Fred C. Wesberry of St. George as a person of interest in this case. Mr. Wesberry is wanted for questioning in regards to the incident that took place at Walgreens. If anyone has any information about this incident or the whereabouts of Mr. Wesberry please contact the St. George Police Department at (435)627-4300.

THIS! Is exactly why I got security cameras!!!!!!! So you can catch people like this after the fact or scare them away before. The way a lot of these criminals are behaving I don't want to be opening my door for just anyone knocking. What really pushed me over the edge was my neighbor getting robbed! The next day I went online to southern circuits and ordered a camera system... anyway I realize that was a little off topic but, I'm hoping they catch the guy.. It sends a message to other criminals that you’re not going to get away with robbing hard working people!
