She was the seventh of twelve children born to Cornelious and Gertrude Williams. She attended Idaho State University and graduated from Utah State University. She was a school teacher. She met Lyle E. Lapray at Utah State and they were married December 27, 1955 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They had five children that they raised in Portland, Oregon and Margaret was able to be a stay-at-home mom.
In 1995, she moved with Lyle to Ivins, Utah where Lyle worked with Tuachan. Lyle passed away in 1999. Margaret moved to Logandale, Nevada in 2004. Not too long after that, she met Kay Anderson, they were married and they moved back to Ivins. Sadly, Kay passed away in 2006, but Margaret stayed on in Ivins.
Margaret has always been active in the LDS church and has served as Primary President, Young Women’s President and several times as Relief Society President; as well as numerous other callings. She has served missions in Argentina, China, Canary Islands, the Portland Employment Center, the Portland Temple, the St. George Temple and the St. George Family History Center.
Margaret loved to travel! She has visited 43 countries and nearly every state. She enjoyed dancing with Lyle, swimming every week and walking with her buddies around her neighborhood. Her greatest joys in life were her family and serving others.
Margaret is survived by her siblings: Ruth Polatis, Richard (Sharon) Williams, Leah (Ezra) Robertson, Stanley (Nancy) Williams and Neal Williams; her children: Bessejo (Stuart) Kearsley of Aloha, Oregon, Christina (Bryan) Sheldon of Logandale, Nevada, Sam (Amie) Lapray of Salem, Oregon, David (Heidi) Lapray of Beaverton, Oregon and Jon (Janice) Lapray of Salem Oregon; 21 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held in Ivins, Utah on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Red Cliffs LDS 8th Ward Chapel located at 625 East Center Street. A visitation will be on held Saturday, prior to services, from 12:45 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. at the Chapel
A second funeral service will be held in Blackfoot, Idaho on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Thomas LDS Chapel located at 1059 West 100 South. A visitation will be on Saturday, prior to services, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Chapel. Interment will follow at the Riverside Thomas Cemetery in Blackfoot, Idaho.
