    (ST. GEORGE, Utah) - 1941 – 2014 Mother-Oma-Friend Gretel Gold Thaller age 72 passed away in St. George, Utah on Friday January 3, 2014. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on September 25, 1941 to Lawrence (Gus) H. Gold and Ruth Everton Gold. She married Werner Thaller on August 9, 1963 in the Salt Lake City Temple for Time and All Eternity.

    Gretel was raised in SLC and graduated from West High School. After one year at BYU, she moved to Washington DC where she worked as a secretary for Sen. Bennett from Utah during 1961-1963. She met Werner back East as he was serving his country. After their marriage, they lived in SLC, Ogden, Heber, and St. George.

    She loved her Father in Heaven and His Son Jesus Christ with all her heart. Gretel and Werner served 2 missions together the last one was in the Berlin Germany Mission. She served in many callings including Relief Society, Primary, and Young Women, but her music callings were her favorite. She was currently serving at the St. George Temple as an organist. She loved to knit and crochet and her hands were always busy making beautiful things out of yarn to share with her family and friends.

    She loved all people and her family most of all. She was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

    She is survived by her husband of St. George. Her daughter Heidi & (Brad) Margetts. Son Michael & (Onika) Thaller. Grandchildren: Hailey, Kaisey, Brandon, and Gretchen Margetts; Micah, Kambree, and Preslie Thaller. Her mother Ruth Everton; sisters Ruth Hall, Judy McCleery, Loretta Tucker and Suzanne Gold; brothers Nicholas and Harold Gold; plus many Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.

    She is preceded in death by her father Gus, sisters Kathleen and Trilby, and brother Walter.

    Funeral Services will be Friday, January 10, 2014 at 12:00pm at the Meadowlark Ward LDS Chapel located at 2180 East Meadowlark Way (9020 South), Sandy, Utah. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:30am at the same location.

    Interment will be at the Mountain View Memorial Estates 3115 E. Bengal Blvd. (7800 S.), Cottonwood Heights, Utah.
