(SALT LAKE CITY, Utah) - Salt Lake City Mayor Ralph Becker hosted senior-level White House officials today, as a part of his ongoing duties as a member of President Obama’s White House Task Force on Climate Preparedness and Resilience. Mayor Becker’s guests included White House Director of Intergovernmental Affairs David Agnew and White House Council on Environmental Quality Chair Nancy Sutley, as well as industry, government, and advocacy stakeholders. Mayor Becker and the stakeholders shared with the administration the climate change mitigation and adaptation challenges they are facing. Utah Democratic Party Chair Jim Dabakis issued the following statement Friday,

“Time and time again, our country’s leaders knock on Mayor Becker's door, knowing he will bring pragmatic, forward-thinking, and creative solutions to the table. As climate change continues to threaten our Utah way of life, I can think of no one better to head up our response than Ralph.”
