  • Mesquite Detectives Act Quick On Burglary

    (MESQUITE, NV) - On Wednesday, January 8, Mesquite Police Detectives concluded an investigation into a residential burglary. The burglary occurred in the afternoon on Tuesday, January 7. During the brazen daytime burglary approximately $16,000 in jewelry was stolen from the residence.

    The criminal investigation led to the arrest of the three out of state residents, who were responsible for the crime. The trio was apprehended as they were attempting to flee Mesquite and return to California. The following suspects were arrested for the charges listed:

    Gavin Makinson, 31, of Clovis, Ca. was charged with felony burglary, felony possession of stolen property, felony injury to other's property, felony possession of methamphetamine, gross misdemeanor possession of burglary tools, and misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia.

    Levi Ochotorena, 33, of Loomis, Ca. was charged with felony burglary, felony possession of stolen property, felony injury to other's property, and gross misdemeanor possession of burglary tools.

    Vanessa Davis, 33, of Fresno, Ca. was charged with felony possession of stolen property, and felony possession of methamphetamine.

    Mesquite Police Investigations Captain Shane Charles acknowledged and commended the detectives responsible for capturing the criminals and returning the property to the victims. Captain Charles added, “Our detectives demonstrated exemplary police work by their swift action in capturing the perpetrators and reuniting the victims with their property.”
