    (FAIRFIELD, Utah) - Camp Floyd State Park and Museum staff is offering a scholarship program allowing four children the opportunity to attend Camp Floyd’s History Camp at no cost, including camp lunches and a transportation stipend. Funding is provided by the Masonic Foundation of Utah and Friends of Camp Floyd.

    Potential attendees need to complete an online application, write a short essay or drawing on why they want to attend, must not have attended camp in the past and be between the ages of eight and 11 on event date. Additionally, the parent or guardian must explain why they require a scholarship on the application.

    Online application is available at stateparks.utah.gov/forms/camp-floyd-history-camp-scholarship-program. Submissions can be emailed to megankeller@utah.gov or mailed to 18035 West 1540 North Fairfield, Utah 84013. All materials must be received by January 31.

    Camp Floyd History Camps provide hands-on educational experiences about how soldiers lived at Camp Floyd in 1861. Activities include playing 19th century games; setting up a soldier's camp; firing an 1860's period firearm and making crafts. Participants receive a history camp tee shirt, kepi, replica rifle, canteen, haversack and yo-yo.
