    (ST. GEORGE, Utah) - On Thursday, December 19th at approximately 7 PM, the St. George Police Dispatch received a call from the Pilot Truck Stop located at 2841 South 60 East in St. George Utah. A Pilot employee informed dispatch that a customer was trying to use counterfeit money to purchase items from the business. St. George police officers were dispatched and able locate the suspect prior to them leaving the business. Officers learned that there were five other individuals traveling with the suspect. Additional counterfeit money was located on the other individuals. All six individuals were traveling in two vehicles, one of which was towing a travel trailer. The officers obtained a search warrant and the vehicles were searched. Inside the vehicles officers found between 2 ½ to 3 Lbs. of a substance believed to be methamphetamine, a small amount of substance believed to be marijuana, drug paraphernalia, a stolen handgun, and a small amount of prescription medications.

    Officers arrested Coleen Sanford, Felicia Montigo, Julie Shapero, Can Whaley, Monty Simpson and James Hayes. They were booked into Washington County Jail on various drug, weapon and counterfeiting charges. This case is still under investigation. More information will be release when it is available.
