(HURRICANE, Utah) – Christmas candies, white elephant gifts, and Christmas caroling are some of the fun traditions families participate in during the Christmas season. There are many different types of candies to enjoy and Christmas songs to sing to brighten someone’s spirits.

Jen Benson said this about her family, “It is fun and I love it when my family gets together.” Making Christmas goodies is a fun way to get the whole family involved. Most candies don’t take a lot of time or effort to make. One easy recipe that doesn’t take too much time is peppermint bark. Just melt white or semi-sweet chocolate in the microwave and add broken peppermint candy canes to the mixture. After cooling break into small pieces and enjoy.

Other favorite Christmas goodies may include: fudge, chocolate turtles, divinity, or toffee. Don’t be afraid to experiment and try a new recipe. If things don’t turn out, your neighbors are just a few minutes away. Sharing Christmas goodies with neighbors is a great way to keep from gaining those extra pounds during the holidays. Prepare a plate of goodies, bundle up, and head on over to you neighbors to delivery your delicious candies. Along the way have fun singing Christmas songs everyone knows.

There are many different Christmas traditions families can do each year. It is never too late or early to start practicing family Christmas traditions. Just try not to eat too much, sing too loud but if you do there are always New Year resolutions you can set.
