(SALT LAKE CITY, Utah) - Nominations for Utah’s next attorney general have flooded into the Utah Democratic Party. Utahns nominated candidates of esteem, who have broad respect in the community and are as diverse as the people of Utah. The Democratic Party sought candidates that were beyond reproach, outside of business as usual, who would be dedicated entirely to restoring the public’s faith in our government, and be good stewards of an office in turmoil. With over 276 responses (more than the GOP Central Committee) in 72 hours, some of the hundreds of recommendations for the next AG include:

    Supreme Court Justice Christine Durham

Former Salt Lake County Mayor Peter Corroon

Veteran Lawyer, and Republican State Senator Lyle Hillyard

Former Supreme Court Justice Michael Zimmerman

    Former Judge Raymond Uno

Former LDS Church Historian Marlin Jensen

“Utahns across the state are putting forward candidates of the highest caliber. They are men and women of respect, and esteem,” stated Utah Democratic Party Chairman Jim Dabakis. “Utahns have put forward leaders who already have the public trust, who have a history of public service, and who are committed to the greater good. These are candidates who are outside the business-as-usual politics of Capitol Hill. Leaders who would, with laser-like precision, focus on regaining the lost trust and respect of all Utahns. People who would have the political courage and moral compass to make sweeping ethics recommendations, with teeth, and would correct the course in the attorney general's office."
