(SALT LAKE CITY, Utah) – There are major conflicts of interest and ethical questions surrounding the candidates for Attorney General being considered by the Utah Republican Party. The Utah Democratic Party, in a non-partisan coalition with Republican Senator John Valentine, Alliance for a Better UTAH, and numerous outside groups, have called for a caretaker and outsider to be appointed, as a means to clean up the office and restore the public trust. The Utah Democratic Party has received numerous submissions for candidates, ones are entirely outside the business-as-usual politics of the Republican Party. Today, the state party has opened up an online forum for the public to submit names the people of Utah want for their next attorney general. The nomination period will be open from Wednesday, December 11 through Saturday, December 14, 2013.

Utah democrats are whiners. They can't win because they bellyache instead of inspire. They will not be given an opportunity to recommend the AG, the governor has exclusive rights to make that decision.
