(ST. GEORGE, Utah) - The St. George Police Department responded to approximately 46 non-injury traffic accidents since 3:00 p.m. Saturday, December 7th. Many of the accidents were believed to be related to weather and poor driving conditions. The accidents included minor damage to significant damage to vehicles and property. St. George police officers responded to only two injury related accidents, both of which the occupants sustained minor non-life-threatening injuries. On Saturday St. George Officer responded to over 20 vehicles that had slid off the road. As December 9th most of the major roads throughout St. George were beginning to clear up. Because of the low temperatures most of the residential neighborhoods and side streets are still covered with snow and ice. St. George Police is asking motorists drive with extreme caution in the areas where the roads are still very slick.
