“We purchased the gingerbread kits and those who wanted to make one could pick one up.” Jeffrey Schmutz sales manager said. Participants took home their kits; thought up unique ideas brought back their houses, and took part in a silent auction to help raise money for local families.
Some of the unique themes were “Angry Birds”, “Wizard of Oz”, and Santa’s Hawaiian Christmas. Prizes were given out to the best gingerbread houses. Third place went to an entry entitled, “Cabin in the Woods”, designed by the Woodcock Family. The second place award went to Canyon Media with their clever idea of “Mele Kalikimaka”. First place was given to an entry whose designers melted lifesavers to create stain glass windows and created an all white church/temple.
With awards given, a silent auction is taking place for the ownership of the houses. The Gingerbread Extravaganza Silent Auction is being held in Findlay Hyundai’s showroom. The auction ends December 7, so hurry on in. If you want to “Buy it Now” instead of waiting, there is an option for that too.
The Gingerbread Extravaganza is a charity auction which helps provide Christmas for local families through Coins for Kids. Findlay Hyundai – Subaru, are proud sponsors of the Christmas Gingerbread Extravaganza, along with Hurst General Store and Planet 94.1.
