St. George Weather Related Accidents
(ST. GEORGE, Utah) - Today, between 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. St George Police officers responded to approximately 7 traffic accidents. Weather and slick roads were a factor in these accidents. There were no reported injuries with any of these accidents. The majority of the accidents occurred on the Southeast side of St George/River Road area where the snow seemed to be slightly heavier and roads were extremely slick. There were several other property damage incidents such as a fire hydrant that was hit and a tree branch that fell onto a vehicle. Several vehicles slid off the road but did not sustain any significant damage. The St George area does not receive this amount of snow very often and drivers are not accustomed to driving in winter like conditions. The St. George Police would like to remind motorist that when this type of weather event happens to slow down, maintain safe following distances, and avoid distractions.
