(ST. GEORGE, Utah) - Dixie State University’s weekly “Dixie Forum: A Window on the World” series has added an additional forum to its 2013 Fall Semester schedule on Tuesday, December 3. The forum will feature presentation on climate change and renewable energy by University of Colorado at Boulder chemistry professor Dr. Barney Ellison.

The forum will begin at 12 noon, in the Dunford Auditorium of the Browning Resource Center on the DSU campus. Admission is free for all community members, DSU students, and faculty and staff.

Dr. Ellison has served on the faculty at the University of Colorado for nearly 40 years, where he teaches organic chemistry. While on the Boulder campus, he developed a research program to study organic reactive intermediates to study the dynamical properties of polyatomic organic ions and radicals. Ellison is a graduate of Trinity (CT) College with a degree in Biology, and completed his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry at Yale University.

The Dixie Forum series will return to its regular weekly schedule for the 2014 spring semester beginning in January. For more information on DSU's Dixie Forum series, please contact DSU Forum coordinator John Burns at 435-879-4712 or at burns@dixie.edu.
