Richard E. Hunter, husband of Donna L Hunter, passed on Sunday, November 10, 2013. Richard was born on November 30, 1945 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

His grandparents, his mother Judith Hunter and his father Elvan Hunter, preceded him in death as well as two nephews, Christopher Bolms and Scott Hunter.

Richard was raised and educated in Salt Lake City until he moved to Southern California where he met his Eternal Companion, Donna L. Hetrick. They were married on Friday February 13, 1970 and sealed in the temple in St. George in 1993. Richard was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, holding many positions of leadership, but favored teaching the gospel.

Richard spent many days with his two favorite past times: cameras and photography, and shooting and guns. His lifelong friend and companion, advisor, teacher and lover, Donna, accompanied him. Richard worked for many years at “Guns and Diamonds” with Randy Scott and Don Wright.

Richard and the family thank Dr. Kerry Stratford, Kiley McCall and Applegate Home Care and Hospice, particularly his CNA, Lyn and his wonderful nurse, Bob.

Richard leaves behind his loving wife, Donna, a brother David W. Hunter, sisters Teresa Ann Vannelli and Linda (Mark) Foster, nieces Tammy (Justin) Henderson, Tova (Joel) Kline and a nephew Jon Terin Vannelli, and grand nieces and nephews.

Interment and ceremonies will be private. Please no flowers. If you want to make a donation in Richard’s name, please do so to “Toys for Tots”, Dixie Care and Share or any local charity.

Arrangements are under the care of Heideman Hughes Mortuary 435-674-5000.
