    Broken Water Pipe
    Broken Water Pipe
(WASHINGTON COUNTY, Utah) - On November 14 at approximately 6:45 a.m., there was a main line break in the Gunlock to Santa Clara pipeline. This pipeline provides secondary water to Santa Clara residents, local agricultural users and the municipalities of Santa Clara and St. George.

Representatives from the City of St. George Water Services Department and Washington County Water Conservancy District quickly responded. The damaged pipeline was unearthed and analyzed. It is believed the break was caused from a slight curve in the pipeline alignment during its install accompanied with lower temperatures, which cause the pipeline to contract. Crews are working throughout the day to repair the pipeline. Work is expected to be complete by end of day today.

Due to the interconnected nature of Washington County’s municipal water supply, water service was uninterrupted for those dependent on this pipeline.
