    (ST. GEORGE, Utah) - Edward Hayden Phillips age 75, passed away peacefully on Oct. 4, 2013. He was the only child of Virgil and Evelyn Phillips. He married Mary Ann Streeter on Oct. 24, 1987 in Glenwood Springs, CO.

    Hayden had many fond memories of his escapades and adventures growing up in Oak Creek. He lettered in football, basketball and baseball at Oak Creek Union High School graduating in 1956. He attended San Diego State University where he attained his undergrad and Masters Degree in Geology.

    Hayden worked as a geo-hydrologist traveling extensively in the western states. He was the principle and owner of WATEC Inc. serving the mining industry for many years in the Rocky Mountain region. He had a lively imagination and a great sense of humor. He loved the Rocky Mountains and enjoying hunting, boating and fishing. Proud to be a Colorado native Hayden was a Denver Bronco's and Colorado Rockies fan.

    He was a lifelong member of the Methodist church. Hayden was an accomplished golfer and bowler. He received accolades as he took first place in the men's club golf tournament, and won gold medals bowling in the Huntsman Senior Games.

    Hayden is survived by his wife Mary Ann of St. George, UT; Their five children Rocky Bowman (Sandy) of Henderson, NV, Cristy Huff (Wesley) of Pleasant Grove, UT, Richard Bowman of St. George, UT, Debbie Castillo (Dennis) of Ambler, PA, Sean Phillips (Marisa) of Colfax, CA. He and Mary Ann have 18 grandchildren and 36 Great-grandchildren.

    A celebration of his life will be held in a memorial service at 2:00 p.m on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at Shepherd of the Hills United Methodist, 920 South Tonaquint Dr. Hayden will be laid to rest next to his father and father-in-law in the Rosebud Cemetery in Glenwood Springs, CO.
