(ST. GEORGE, Utah) - Tuesday, October 22nd, two St George Officers responded to the State Bank of Southern Utah located at 395 E. St George Blvd. to investigate a possible fraud. It was reported that a female was attempting to cash stolen checks. Apparently these checks were stolen in an Iron County residential burglary earlier this month. Alert employees at the bank recognized there were problems with the checks and contacted the police. Officers made contact with a female who initially gave officers a false name. Eventually the female was identified as 25 year old Amanda Fredrick of LaVerkin. Amanda was attempting to cash stolen checks using someone else’s identification. With Amanda was 23 year old Kelcy Roberts of Marysvale who was also involved in the fraud. Both were taken into custody and charged with multiple counts of fraud, theft, forgery, false information, and warrants for their arrest.

While Officers were investigating the fraud at the bank, they looked over toward the St George Blvd. were a car was honking its horn. The Officers found themselves in a front row seat for a head on collision which happened right next to where they were standing. 33 year old Tyson Glore of St. George had crossed over the median and was driving head on into West bound traffic. A young mother and her two children were traveling West on St George Blvd. This mother saw Tyson driving right at them, she stopped and began honking but to no avail, Tyson hit them head on. Miraculously no one was injured in the accident. Officers investigated the accident and located a can of “dust off” on Tyson’s driver’s seat. The investigation revealed that Tyson had purchased a can of “dust off” of Walgreens on St. George Blvd. and began “huffing” as he drove East on St George Blvd. Tyson drove up over the South curb on the Blvd. and ran over one of the landscaping trees in front of Iceberg Drive-In at 200 E. St George Blvd. Tyson continued on and eventually crossed over the median into oncoming traffic and ran head on into the victims at 395 E. Blvd. Tyson was arrested for DUI, phytotoxic chemical abuse, and criminal mischief, and other traffic offenses.

Just when the officers thought they were finished, a motorist traveling East on St George Blvd. began to “rubber neck” what was taking place and in all the excitement ran into the back of a vehicle in front of him. Needless to say all this ended up in the St George Blvd. being shut down until all the tow trucks could get the vehicles moved out of the way, a total of five vehicles had to be towed. When all was said and done it’s a miracle that no one was injured throughout these crazy events.
