(ST. GEORGE, Utah) - More than 1800 runners, as well as numerous children, took part in the recent 2nd annual Color Me Rad event, raising over $10,000 for Habitat for Humanity of Southwest Utah. A big shout out to all the volunteers that came out to help, we had over 135. “That is what makes this run possible, all of the volunteers. They are such an asset to Color Me Rad and Habitat, they help the event run smoothly,” adds Lil Barron, Director of Community Engagement for Habitat for Humanity of Southwest Utah.

According to Michael Gburski, executive director of the local non-profit affiliate, “We are grateful to those who took part in this fun event for helping us raise these much-needed funds which will be used to build a home in Washington City for another deserving family.”

Habitat for Humanity of Southwest Utah has now built or renovated 18 homes in Washington County, providing a hand up, not a hand out to the deserving families. Since 2010, Habitat for Humanity of Southwest Utah has also done repairs and renovations to 40 homes through the affiliate’s A Brush with Kindness program.

For more information on the programs of Habitat for Humanity of Southwest Utah or how to donate, serve on any of numerous committees, volunteer for an upcoming build project or at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore, see www.habitatswu.org online or call 674-7669.
