(MESQUITE, Nev) - Mesquite Police Officers will be at the Senior Center on Friday, October 25th from 11:30 a.m. to 12: 30 p.m. to collect unwanted, unused and expired prescription drugs. Reducing the amount of pills in the home reduces the likelihood of medication mix ups and the risk of theft of prescription drugs. Please bring in prescription pills that you no longer need or use. You can place all pills in a baggie for drop off to protect your personal information. Only pills will be collected. Please do NOT bring in liquids, sprays, inhalers or syringes.

Prescription medications can also be safely disposed of 365 days a week, 24 hours a day in prescription drug take back boxes located at 500 Hillside Drive in the Mesquite Justice Facility and at the Mesquite Police Department located at 695 Mayan Circle. Prescription drug drop boxes were originally furnished to the Mesquite Police Department by a grant from the Clark County Water Reclamation District in order to reduce the amount of drugs entering waterways from being flushed down toilets. The Mesquite Police Department destroys all medication by incineration.

For more information on this and other programs please contact the Mesquite Police Department at (702) 346-5262.
