(WASHINGTON, Utah) – On Wednesday, October 2, 2013, Lorna Ione Dalley Wright Webb passed away suddenly after losing a valiant fight with leukemia. She was born March 18, 1942 in Payson, Utah to Alice Ione Rappleye and Leon “Shorty” Dalley. In 1959, Lorna married her high school sweetheart, George “Ed” Wright. They later divorced. Lorna married Willard Webb in 1999. He passed in 2011.

Lorna was raised in Delta, Utah. After marrying Ed, they continued to live in Delta, and moved to Hurricane, Utah, when Ed was transferred there for his job with UDOT. Lorna worked at Zion’s Bank and Utah Power and Light. After her divorce from Ed, she continued working for Utah Power and Light and was later transferred to the Cedar City, Utah Office. She later retired from Utah Power and Light. Lorna enjoyed working for the Town of Springdale in a temporary receptionist position in 2010. She loved that job and it gave her the opportunity to work with her son, Kurt.

Lorna became very active in the LDS church and dedicated the latter part of her life to the Church. After marrying Willard, they served an LDS mission in St. George. Lorna had several callings in her ward, including being a visiting teacher in Relief Society and a Primary teacher. After Willard passed, Lorna started volunteering at the Temple, where she worked every Saturday until she became ill. Lorna also indexed in excess of 50,000 names for the Church before her death. Lorna enjoyed her indexing and did it many hours every day.

Lorna was an avid horseback rider and also enjoyed reading, camping, and walking with her beloved dogs, Mica and Meka. Lorna competed in many local rodeos during her younger years. She loved her “gang of friends” and loved doing activities with them. She also drove fellow widows to doctor appointments and various other appointments, and also took them shopping. She was truly a wonderful, spiritual woman.

Lorna is survived by her children; Ricky E. (Haven) Wright, Virgin, Utah; Kurt A. (Pam Humphreys) Wright, Virgin, Utah; grandchildren Jessie (Sam) Cannon, Eagle Mountain, Utah; Dathan Spencer, New Mexico; Haden (Kelsey) Wright, St. George, Utah; Skyler (Jacy)Wright, Roosevelt, Utah; four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews, all of whom were very dear to her heart. Lorna is preceded in death by her parents and siblings; Helen Hale, BerDeane Sinkule, Leon Dalley and James Dalley. Lorna was preceded in death by husband, Willard Webb.

A Funeral Service will be held at the 8th Ward LDS Chapel on 446 Mangum, Washington, Utah on Friday, October 4, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Viewing for friends and family will be at the same Chapel on Friday, October 4, 2013 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at the Virgin Pioneer Cemetery in Virgin, Utah; the dedication of the grave will be at 2:00 p.m.
