  • Volunteers Needed in Cedar City for National Public Lands Day Projects September 28th

    (CEDAR CITY, Utah) - Volunteers of all ages are invited to join Bureau of Land Management (BLM) employees from the Cedar City Field Office . . on Sept. 28, 2013, to mark the twentieth anniversary of National Public Lands Day. This year, the Cedar City Field Office is hosting events at two locations—Thunder Bird Gardens in Cedar City and the lower Beaver River in Beaver, Utah.

    Anyone interested in volunteering at Thunder Bird Gardens should meet at the Cedar City Golf Course parking lot at 9 a.m. After a brief welcome, volunteers and BLMers will work together to clean up Thunder Bird Gardens, which is located one mile east of the golf course.

    Anyone interested in volunteering at lower Beaver River should meet at 9 a.m. at Hanging Rock, which is located two miles west of Minersville Reservoir on Highway 21.

    Volunteers should bring comfortable shoes and work clothes, sun protection, and plenty of water. Volunteers will receive commemorative t-shirts and passes for public lands. Contact Dave Jacobson at (435)865-3010 or Mitch Owens at (435)865-3012 for more information.
