(WASHINGTON, DC) – U.S. Senator Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) issued the following statement after all 100 Senators voted to proceed to House-passed legislation to fund the government through December 15, while defunding ObamaCare:

“The people of Utah do not want ObamaCare – a government takeover of health care that will increase families’ health care costs, put bureaucrats between patients and their doctors, push people out of the health care they have and raise taxes on everyone. Today, every member of the Senate rightly voted to move to legislation passed by the House of Representatives to not only fund the government, but also to defund the President’s signature achievement that the American people oppose. Now it’s up to the political party of the President to decide whose side they are on – the side of the people they represent or the side of the President who’ll do whatever it takes to protect ObamaCare.”
