Three Thunderbirds finished among the top-20 in the tournament, led by Sammy Cole, who shot 68 on Tuesday to move from 26th to 13 place at 1-over par 214. Tim Leonard had a final-round 73 to finish in 17th at 217 while Jake Holt was 19th at 218 after turning in a round of 74 on Tuesday.
SUU’s Nic Booth shot 75 to finish 40th at 225 while Jameson Keiley came in 56th at 231 after shooting 77 on Tuesday. Braxton Williams, who was playing as an individual, finished 67th at 242 after a round of 83.
The Thunderbirds, who entered the day tied with Cal State Fullerton in seventh, finished at 871, 20 shots off the pace of team champion Sacramento State, which shot 285 on Tuesday for a three-round total of 851, 12 strokes ahead of second place Idaho.
Fullerton made the biggest move of the day, shooting 284 to move all the way into a tie for third place with Seattle at 865, with Utah State fifth at 867. Stetson and Grand Canyon finished tied for eighth at 873, followed by Concordia at 883, Weber State at 887 and host Boise State at 893.
