    (ST. GEORGE, Utah) – Sunset on the Square Friday night FREE family movies on the Town Square in the City of St. George is a huge success with more than 2000 attendees per event. The event is hosted by Write It Up! and the City of St. George. Friday, August 16th, will be a make-up date for the Charity Night that was previously rained out on July 26, 2013.

    This year there are many great movies and special events scheduled. “Charity Night is one of my favorite events associated with Sunset on the Square. Tonight we have a lot of extras planned with balloon animals, fake tattoos, lots of games at the vendor booths, more prizes than ever before and many wonderful organizations to learn more about. We hope everyone comes out to show their support and appreciation for works of all charitable organizations.” explained Dawn McLain, the Event Coordinator.

    August 16th will feature the movie Nightmare Before Christmas at dusk. The Charity of the Night is Utah Public Radio. Proceeds from Blue Bunny and other vendors will be donated to UPR. Prior to the movie attendees can enjoy great entertainment, AAA Water Balloon Challenge, music, dancing, lots of games, food and prizes.

    The Travel Connection is providing this year’s Grand Prize, a 4 day cruise for 2 on Princess Cruise lines. Throughout the season 3 people will quality to win each night. The Grand Prize winner will be announced before the movie on August 23, at the close of the season event, Chamber Night.

    Join us in Town Square Park, every 2nd and 4th Friday of the month starting May 24 thru Sept. 13, 2013. This season’s remaining schedule includes:

    August 16 – Nightmare Before Christmas – Nonprofit Night

    August 23 – Princess Bride – St. George Chamber of Commerce Night

    Sept. 13 – Ice Age: Continental Drift

    August 16 – Charity Night – Sunset on the Square will feature local nonprofit organizations and programs.

    August 23 – Chamber Night - Sunset on the Square will feature St. George Chamber Night where chamber members are encouraged to participate at a reduced rate.

    Sunset on the Square is a FREE family night out for the community with movies played on the big screen outdoors. Each event starts at 6, community members should arrive early with their blankets and chairs to get a great seat.
