(ST. GEORGE, Utah) – Head coach Kacey Bingham released Wednesday the 18-game competition schedule for the Dixie State University women’s soccer team including scrimmages, six non-conference tilts and 12 matches in Pacific West Conference play.

The team will play three scrimmages in late August (Salt Lake Community College at home, Cal State San Bernardino and Cal Poly Pomona on the road) before opening the regular season with a pair of non-conference matches at Hansen Stadium. DSU begins with San Diego Christian on Sept. 5 and Montana State Billings on Sept. 7. Both games start at 4:30 p.m.

A five-match road swing highlights the middle part of September. The opening two matches of the trip take the Red Storm to the Pacific Northwest. DSU battles Seattle Pacific (Sept. 12) and Western Washington (Sept. 14) in West region, non-conference tests. Action in the Pacific West follows the next Tuesday (Sept. 17) at Fresno Pacific. The trip closes with two matches in the Bay Area – Notre Dame de Namur (Sept. 19) and Dominican (Sept. 21).

The longest homestand of the season follows as all four teams from the Hawaiian Islands visit Hansen Stadium in a week’s time. On Sept. 28 at 4:30 p.m., Dixie State faces Hawai‘i Pacific. Following the Sea Warriors, the Storm hosts 4:30 p.m. matches with Chaminade (Sept. 30) and BYU-Hawaii (Oct. 3) while playing a 10 a.m. matinee with Hawai‘i Hilo on Oct. 5.

DSU makes a return trip to the Bay Area for PacWest matches with Holy Names (Oct. 12) and Academy of Art (Oct. 14).

Two final home contests close out October for the Storm. The Cougars of Azusa Pacific are scheduled for a 10 a.m. match on Oct. 19 while Senior Day is set for Oct. 26 at 9 a.m. against Point Loma.

The 2013 regular season closes out on the field of the defending Pacific West champions, California Baptist. Dixie State plays a non-conference match with the Lancers on Nov. 7 before a league counter closes the campaign on Nov. 9.

Dixie State looks to rebound from a 6-10-2 overall record and 6-8 Pacific West mark in 2010. Bingham became the second women’s soccer head coach in the DSU Division II era on Dec. 17, 2012, after predecessor Linda Huddleston stepped down.
