(LEEDS, Utah) – The Dixie National Forest will be opening the Oak Grove and Browse Roads on Saturday, August 3 in response to fire restrictions being lifted on Forest Service lands on the Pine Valley Ranger District.

“The Oak Grove and Browse roads have been closed for public safety throughout the summer in response to extremely dry fuels and dangerous fire conditions combined with the fact that these two roads are the only ways in and out of the areas they access,” says Randy Beckstrand, Acting Pine Valley District Ranger. “The rain we received in July alleviated these dry and dangerous conditions for the most part and have allowed the fire restrictions to be lifted and these two roads to be opened back up for public access.”

It is important to keep in mind that conditions are still quite dry in most locations and though fire restrictions have been lifted it is still very important to be careful with fire and to observe all normal precautions related to fire.

For more information, contact the Pine Valley Ranger District at (435) 652-3100 or the Interagency Visitor Center at (435) 688-3246.
