    August 9 Antelope Island State Park - Syracuse

    Kayak Tour: Join us for a morning kayak tour from 9 to 11:30 a.m., to enjoy the beauty of the lake and discover some of the many wonders that make Great Salt Lake so unique and valuable. Advanced registration is required and space is limited. Register at stateparks.utah.gov. Kayak rentals are available from Gonzo Boat Rentals and Tours by calling 801-698-6288.     August 9 – 11 Rockport State Park - Wanship

    Rockport Dam Jam: Join us for the 20th annual Rockport Dam Jam. Potluck dinner on Friday and Saturday nights. Live bands will be playing in the Old Church all day Saturday and impromptu jam sessions everyday. Camping is available for $5 per vehicle per night unless camping in the Riverside individual campsites or arriving before Friday night then fees are $10 per vehicle per night. Day-use fee is $5 per car. 435-336-2241

    August 10 Antelope Island State Park – Syracuse

    Antelope Island Spider Festival: Every year the island seems to be overrun with spiders. Join us from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., for a day of spider-related activities including walks and spider identification. Park entrance fees apply. 801-721-9569

    August 10 Antelope Island State Park - Syracuse

    Junior Ranger Program: Join us at 1 p.m., to learn how Antelope Island’s cowboys worked their cattle at the Fielding Garr Ranch. Though this program is geared for ages six to 12, all ages are welcome. Space is limited and registration required.     August 10 Antelope Island State Park - Syracuse

    Star Party: Join members of the Ogden Astronomical Society in White Rock Bay for deep space viewing. Learn about globular clusters, nebulae, galaxies and more. At 7:30 p.m., solar scopes will be set up for viewing the sun. Sunset is at 8:35 pm. If you bring a flashlight, please have a red filter over it. Entrance fees apply. 801-721-9569

    August 10 Antelope Island State Park - Syracuse

    Music on the Island: Experience a magical evening on the island and enjoy the musical talents of Highway 6 beginning at 7:30 p.m., at the visitor center outdoor amphitheater. Concert is free with paid admission to the park. Sponsored by Friends of Antelope Island and R&G Horse and Wagon. 801-721-9569

    August 10 Red Fleet State Park - Vernal

    Red Fleet State Park hosts the first annual Paddlefest Friday, August 9 and Saturday, August 10. Events begin Friday at noon and include paddle craft demos and paddle tours of the Dinosaur Trackway.

    Special Saturday events include an on-the-water scavenger hunt and paddle craft races. Food vendors, nightly entertainment and a variety of activities are available both days. Entrance is free, however no motorboats are allowed during this two-day event. For more information, call 435-789-4432.

    August 14-15 Palisade State Park - Sterling

    OHV Ride with the Rangers: Bring your off-highway vehicle (OHV) and join Palisade State Park rangers for an OHV ride and get to know Sanpete County terrain and history. Cost is $30 per person and includes one day of riding, two-night stay at the Gold Hill Group Site and a souvenir T-Shirt. The ride will be on the second day. Ride is limited to 30 participants and registration is required. 801-322-3770
