    (CEDAR CITY, Utah) - (UPDATE: Fire acreage updated to 439 acres. Significant moisture fell on the fire last night, substantially modifying fire behavior. Fire personnel anticipate that this fire will be 100% contained by this evening, unless there is a significant change in weather. Crews will work today to finish securing the perimeter and looking for hot spots. The fire is currently 80% contained.) (UPDATE: Fire acreage updated to 430 acres. 1 Type II Helicopter, 4 Single Engine Air Tankers (SEATS), 8 engines and 4 crew. There are approximately 140 personnel currently assigned to the fire.)

    On July 25th, between Veyo and Brookside, lighting started a fire that has now consumed over 120 acres. Group tree torching and fire runs are observed. Fire burned actively on the south flank throughout the night. Thunderstorms and potential winds with downdrafts are possible later today. No closures are currently in effect. Travelers are urged to use caution along Hwy 18 and to be aware of fire crews along the shoulder. Four structures are currently threatened, as well as a powerline. Structure protection resources are in place. No evacuations are currently in effect and no injuries have been reported. 2 large air tankers, 1 Type II Helicopter, 2 Single Engine Air Tankers (SEATS), 5 engines and 1 crew are assisting. Additional crews and 1 type 1 Helicopter are on order. 0% of the fire has been contained.
