(ST. GEORGE, Utah) – Sunset on the Square (SOTS), Friday night FREE family movies at Town Square Park in the City of St. George will feature some very special guests this Friday, July 26, 2013.

The St. George chapters of Utah Business Women (UBW) and The American Association of University Women (AAUW ) are pleased to announce their co-sponsorship of "Women Supporting Women", a meet and greet opportunity for the public and many of the 19 women candidates running in the primary for Washington County. This non-partisan event is an effort to expand the role of women in our local government and support the women running for office. UBW and AAUW are sponsoring a booth at this Friday's Sunset on the Square from 5-9 pm. We urge the public to stop by and meet the candidates and learn about their platforms.

In addition to the meet and greet opportunity, the event will host a Rock the Vote style booth with onsite opportunities for community members to register to vote. A voter registration booth was also available at the June 28, 2013 event at which the team doubled their registration expectations! Commented Dorothy Engelman (Event Team Leader) post event, “I definitely consider this evening a success.” The team looks forward to another successful night of registering local voters this Friday.

Sunset on the Square is sponsored by KCSG Television, Findlay Automotive, AAA Insurance, The Travel Connection, America’s First Credit Union, The Independent, Cherry Creek, The Spectrum, Family & Kids Magazine, The City of St. George, Write It Up!, and Williams Services.

For additional information about participating or sponsorship opportunities call Dawn McLain at (702) 860-2341 or e-mail dawn@writeituponline.com.

    Hello Rob-

Thank you so much for your comment, I appreciate the feedback and will share it with the City as well. I apologize for the inconvenience regarding the cancellation. A make-up event is scheduled for Sept. 13 and I hope you can make it. We do post on several Facebook sites when we cancel. KCSG, St. George News and The Spectrum also posted stories on their websites along with a scroll on TV with the information. However, I can totally appreciate being at the park and not having access to these messages. I agree that a sign is in order as well.

Thank you so much for your continued support of the event and I hope to see you tomorrow night at our Charity Night!
