David Howard took his final journey on Sunday, July 21, 2013 and went to Heaven. He was an amazing and tender father, grandpa, son and brother, always speaking his mind and while helping other. He had an outstanding sense of humor and positive attitude that was contagious.

Dave was a great outdoors enthusiast and well known for his multiple gold medals won in bike racing. He volunteered his time and talent to help out at the Huntsman Senior Games, the St. George, Utah Ironman and other competitive sports in the area. He enjoyed bike riding, kayaking, hiking Angels Landing and other outdoor activities as well as traveling and taking cruises, but above all David enjoyed being with his grandchildren and having “Man Time” with the grandson while pampering the little girls.

David was a director of nursing for many years in the St. George, UT and Mesquite, NV area, committed to helping others and had an in-depth knowledge of medicine. He was recognized and awarded the National Nurse of the Year award 3 years in a row.

David was born in Phoenix, Arizona on May 9, 1953. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Naron and is survived by his dad, Bill Naron of St. George, UT. He had three sons, Alex Howard of New Mexico, Quinn Howard of Nevada, and Nate Brown of St. George, Utah. He has four grandchildren, Christian, Maren, Ivy and Keegan. David had one sister, Deb Childers of Wyoming and two brothers, Randy Naron of St. George, UT and Don Naron of Texas.

His presence will be greatly missed but his loving influence, encouragement, and courage to all those that knew him will continue to live on forever.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 26, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Spilsbury Mortuary Chapel, 110 S. Bluff St., St. George, UT. The family would like to invite anyone who would like to attend to please come. Interment will take place immediately following at the Tonaquint Cemetery.
