  • Brian Head Resort to Host First Stage of Tour of Utah

    (BRIAN HEAD, Utah) - The Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah, one of the largest cycling races in the country, will start its opening stage at Brian Head Resort on August 6, 2013. The Tour is one of only four, Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) sanctioned, multi-stage, American pro cycling events in 2013. The cyclists will start off the staged race event at 10,000 feet amongst scenic Brian Head and southern Utah. It will be a great opportunity to witness such a great sporting event.

    Brian Head Resort will add to this experience by providing activities starting August 2, 2013 with the Festival of Flavors annual brewfest ending August 4, 2013, and staying open on August 5, 2013 and August 6, 2013. On the day of the event activities will start at 9:00am. Activities include a climbing wall, mechanical bull, scenic lift rides and drinks. Opening Ceremonies begin at 11:00am and the race starts at 11:30am.

    The Tour will feature some of the top cycling teams in the world. In making the Tour competitive 10 professional teams have already confirmed their entry. Four of the pro teams competing in the event are in the Top 10 of the UCI World Tour rankings. Some of the world’s best athletes will be at Brian Head, getting ready to race one of the best cycling events in the United States.
