    Robert “Bob” Lamond Stratton, age 86, passed away on July 11, 2013 in Maple Valley, Washington. He was born on November 11, 1926 to George Lamond and Lillian Lund Stratton.

    He received an early education in Hurricane, Utah, his bachelors at BAC (SUU), and then went on to receive his masters from BYU. He served his country in the United States Army during WWII.

    Bob served on the City Council in Cedar City. As a Bishop of the Cedar City 11th Ward, was a High Councilman, taught the High Priest and held various other callings.

    Bob was a teacher and principal at the old Kanarraville School. He then went on teach and become principal at Cedar City East Elementary where he loved and appreciated his excellent staff. He later worked at the Iron County School District Office. Bob loved gardening, taking care of his fruit trees in Hurricane, hunting and especially fishing. He was always very generous and always rooted for the underdog.

    Bob is survived by his wife Geraldine Campbell Stratton (married November 6, 1948 in the St. George Temple). His children, Jan (Rich) Arterburn of Maple Valley, WA., his son John (Beth) Stratton of Bothel, WA. His brothers, Hal (Pat) of Apple Valley, CA., and George (Patty) of Nibley, UT. His sisters, Ella Petersen of Goodyear, AZ., and Afton Staheli of St. George, UT. Along with 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

    He is preceded in death by his parents George and Lillian Stratton. His son Robert L. Stratton Jr. and his sister Barbara Ballard.

    Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Cedar City 15th Ward located at 500 West 400 North in Cedar City, Utah. A viewing will be held on Friday, July 19, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Southern Utah Mortuary located at 190 North 300 West, Cedar City, Utah. On Saturday, July 20, 3013 the viewing will be at the Church from 9:30-10:30 am. Interment will be in the Cedar City Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.
